Jann Arden to release new album ‘Descendant’ | Breaking News Updates

Canadian musician Jann Arden said writing her new album amid the pandemic gave her “lots of time to reflect”.

The writing process for “Descendant,” Arden’s 15th studio album released on Friday, began in the spring of 2020 at the start of the global COVID-19 outbreak.

“It was basically about cheering on my friends and family,” Arden told CTV anchor and editor Lisa LaFlamme.

Arden said the concept of “Descendant” was born out of these connections to her family, including her mother with Alzheimer’s disease and the strong women who came before her.

“Our ancestors had to go through very difficult situations,” Arden told CTV News.
