Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers insists James Maddison and Wesley Fofana are not for sale.
The Foxes have rejected a £40m bid from Newcastle for Maddison, while Chelsea are expected to weigh up a big bid for Fofana valued at £80m.
Leicester are the only Premier League club yet to sign a contract this summer and cannot afford to lose their star players.
When asked if Maddison and Fofana could leave, Rodgers replied: “I hope not. These players are not for sale.
“We have to get the players out, but that doesn’t get rid of everyone and certainly not our best assets. This is something the club is very strong on.
“James and Wesley are training very well and working hard for our game on Sunday.”
When asked if they could be sold at the right price, Rodgers added: “It depends on the club. For me, I focus on football.
Nonetheless, the Foxes manager admitted he was hoping to improve his squad this summer and lamented the “unfortunate” situation at King Power.

Asked about the possibility of signings, Rodgers said: “As things stand, I don’t think so. I mentioned it before, nobody is imminent.
“The focus has been purely on the players who are here. I think we can do well.
“Any manager will want new players in his team. I felt it was a time when we needed to improve. I respect the position of the club.
“The club has been exceptional in supporting me. This time I have to support them. It’s unfortunate.
“I don’t need to fight with anyone. I would have liked to improve the team. There is time until the end of August if things change.
