The mood is rising in Sevilla ahead of the Europa League final, and the party is already in full swing among the traveling Rangers faithful.
An estimated 100,000 Gers supporters descended on the Spanish city for Wednesday night’s decisive game against Eintracht Frankfurt, despite only being allocated 9,000 tickets.
Fans of the Scottish giants are sure to be making the most of their trip to sunny continental Europe, with the party kicking off on Tuesday evening.
And that includes legend and talkSPORT Rangers super fan, Ally McCoist.
McCoist – who made over 581 appearances for Rangers between 1983 and 1998 – has been the center of celebrations throughout his club’s Europa League run this season.
And when he spoke to talkSPORT Breakfast on the morning of Gers’ first European final since 2008, McCoist gave a real insight into the special atmosphere in the city the day before the game.
“We met thousands of fans, it was awesome last night, it was awesome,” McCoist explained.
“We were taking pictures, we were hugging the fans, the excitement is absolutely amazing.
“It’s magic, adrenaline. You know, when you can just feel it and embrace it, it’s such a feel-good factor.
Social media exploded with videos and photos of Rangers fans dancing in the streets, singing loudly in the heat as the sun set over Sevilla.
And the parties also got off to a strong start the next morning, even though it didn’t kick off until 8 p.m. that evening.
If Rangers go all the way Wednesday night, we’re sure McCoist will be celebrating well past the next breakfast time.
Will he make an appearance on the Thursday morning show or dive into Alan Brazil’s manual on apologizing for the sick?
