INFO LA DEPECHE. Death of Samy, 3 years old: scene of violence, strangled in the shower… the little boy’s mother and stepfather will be indicted

Will the mystery surrounding the death of little Samy, aged 3, be resolved? Following the events that occurred in Saubens (Haute-Garonne), south of Toulouse, the investigation is progressing rapidly. The interviews of the child’s mother, aged 23, and his stepfather, 20 years old, questioned for more than 24 hours, allow us to outline a terrifying scenario.

The traces of strangulation could be explained by a violent episode which took place in the bathroom. On Wednesday November 15, shortly after 9 p.m., the two adults decided to give the child a cold shower, in the hope of calming his anger.

Then, for some reason that remains to be determined, the situation got worse. Minutes later, the boy was allegedly suffocated with a shower hose. This hypothesis is reinforced by the observations of the emergency services on the evening of their intervention. When they arrived on site during the night from Wednesday to Thursday around 2 a.m., the firefighters and Smur actually noticed that the hose was torn off and strangely positioned next to the bathtub.

The child’s autopsy, carried out the same day of his death by the Toulouse forensic institute, made it possible to confirm certain leads from investigators. According to the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office, which commented on this matter in a press release, Samy’s body presented “multiple bruises, of different ages”. But she also confirmed “marks of strangulation, the child having died by mechanical asphyxiation”, continues the public prosecutor of Toulouse in his press release, before specifying that “the voluntary intervention of one or more people to the cause of the child’s death was therefore largely favored over the hypothesis of an accidental death.

Who dealt the fatal blows? The mother or her stepfather? In recent hours, the role of the two lovers is difficult to define. They accuse each other of violence committed against Samy.

A complaint at the start of the month

According to those close to the family, this is unfortunately not the first time that this child has been hit since his birth. At the beginning of November, Samy’s biological father, who has joint custody, actually noticed injuries on his son’s face and body.

This man then filed a complaint with the Colomiers police station to denounce acts of abuse committed by his former wife and her new lover. “Moreover, the father’s criminal action was even supported by the child’s maternal grandparents. These people condemn their daughter’s actions. It shows how cruel she can be,” says one of their relatives. .

His point of view is shared by residents of this residence located in Saubens. “Her new companion is discreet, but not her. As she does not work, we often hear her yelling at her boy. This woman seems hysterical,” describes, for example, a neighbor, who lives a few meters from their accommodation.

Indicted this Friday

This Friday, despite the many gray areas, the two accused are referred to the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office, before being indicted. The investigation will now be led by an investigating judge.

In a few weeks, other investigations should be carried out by the gendarmes to try to demonstrate the guilt of the two suspects. While awaiting these crucial stages, this young woman and her companion, defended in particular by Me Jean Balbo, will probably be placed in pre-trial detention.
