Processions of stopped trucks and traffic jams, truck drivers are on strike, especially in the north of France, near Lille (Nord) or Arras (Pas-De-Calais). The drivers are demanding wage increases in order to be able to fight against the rise in prices. They predict inflation at 8% at the end of the year and employees are having more and more difficulty making ends meet.”testifies a striker.

This social movement, initiated by the drivers, is unanimous and many drivers support this action. Me, I drive 80 km a day and I can tell you that the price of diesel, I feel it”explains a user. “We live on one salary, frankly, it’s very difficult”describes a motorist. The drivers criticize the government’s lack of recognition for their profession knowing that during the pandemic, they continued to drive. They therefore wish to see the State increase them.
