Indigo suspends pilots for planning strike to protest pay cuts


IndiGo has suspended a few pilots who planned to stage a strike on Tuesday to protest pay cuts that were implemented at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, sources said Monday. At the height of the pandemic, India’s largest airline had cut its pilots’ salaries by up to 30%.

On April 1, the airline announced its decision to increase pilot salaries by 8%. He said another 6.5% hike would be implemented from November if there were no disruptions. However, part of the pilots remained dissatisfied and decided to organize a strike, sources said.
