A hairdresser from Villeneuve-Loubet, in the Alpes-Maritimes, has decided to give smiles to Ukrainian refugees by offering them a free haircut. A simple gesture to make them briefly forget the horrors of the conflict #IlsHontLaSolution
A moment of well-being to forget the pain of war. In Villeneuve-Loubet, in the Alpes-Maritimes department, a hairdresser and colorist has decided to boost the morale of Ukrainian refugees by offering them a haircut for free. The service concerns a dozen women, invited to take a break in his hairdressing salon.
Myriam Karsenty is happy to be able to privatize her shop to bring some comfort to these refugee women. “We can do their hair but at the same time, we can bring them a little parenthesis of well-being” says the salon manager.
With the help of her team, made up of volunteers that day, Myriam Karsenty wanted to go further to help these women housed in the town of Villeneuve-Loubet: she organized a free meal and offered her regular clients the chance to sponsor a refugee while having lunch at the restaurant. A female solidarity shared and approved by Svitlana, refugee and mother of three children: “It makes me feel good. When I see the people here, it’s very warm and very pleasant”, she exclaims.
Concrete actions, always with the idea of creating a link between French and Ukrainian women.“We hope to be able to help them as much as possible for different things, whether for administration or to look after the children of the refugees” already foresees Sophie Thomas, godmother of a Ukrainian refugee.
