Ian Ziering Attacked by Bikers on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles – Deadline

UPDATED with statement from Ian Ziering: Ancient Beverly Hills 90210 Star Ian Ziering had a scary time in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve when he was attacked by a group of people riding mini motorized motorcycles on Hollywood Blvd.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Ziering was surrounded by bikers weaving through traffic and could have hit his car. Ziering is seen exiting the vehicle, immediately surrounded by the bikers and a fight breaks out with the bikers seen hitting Ziering several times. He tries to run away and cross the street, but the bikers continue to hit him.

According to the outlet, Ziering managed to get back into his car and drive away and was not seriously injured.

Ziering posted a statement today on Instagram, saying he and his daughter, who was in the car, were “both completely unharmed, but the incident left me deeply concerned about the growing audacity of such groups which disrupt public security and peace. You can read his full statement below.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to CW affiliate KTLA that officers responded to Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave on Sunday. around 3 p.m., following “reports of a fight that broke out after the group of bikers were driving recklessly.”

Ziering is known for his role as Steve Sanders in Beverly Hills, 90210 and as Fin Shepard in the Sharknado TV and Movies. He recently had a voice role in Clone high.

Statement from Ziering on Instagram:

“Yesterday I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini-motorcycles. While stuck in traffic, my car was aggressively approached by one of these bikers, resulting in a disturbing confrontation. To try to assess the damage, I got out of my car. Unfortunately, this action escalated into a physical altercation, which I lived through to protect myself.

I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are completely unharmed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing audacity of these groups in disrupting public safety and peace. This situation highlights a wider problem of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from the authorities seems insufficient.

I have always been an advocate against bullying and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety. We must address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure our streets are safe for everyone. I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent such events.

I am grateful for the support of my family, friends and fans during this time. It is in difficult times like these that the strength and unity of our community is most vital. Good year.”
