It was a completely different Nick Kyrgios who stepped out on Court 2 at Wimbledon on Thursday afternoon, trading his bad temper for first-class showmanship at SW19.
The Aussie wasted no time to dispatch No. 26 seed Filip Krajinovic 6-2 6-3 6-1 in just an hour and 25 minutes.
Kyrgios made headlines earlier this week when he was involved in a heated encounter against Britain’s Paul Jubb.
He argued with referees, called a linesman a “snitch” and demanded a spectator be sent off for heckling.
The 26-year-old continued to denounce the behavior of the crowd during his post-match press conference and admitted to spitting in the direction of a person.
However, the Kyrgios who showed up to face Krajinovic on Thursday showed no resemblance to the man two days prior.
He immediately got to work and blasted his opponent off the pitch, showing exactly why people love him and why he is such a valued talent.
Other than a minor disagreement over a line call, there were no arguments with umpires or crowd members…just amazing tennis.

His serve was untouchable, firing 24 aces and winning 93% of the points on his first serve.
He faced no break points and drew 50 winners, while his opponent had only 12.
The Aussie even showed brilliant sportsmanship towards the end of his straight sets blitz, completing Krajinovic on a serve too good to return.
Speaking on the court after his win, Kyrgios said: “I’ve been playing really good tennis over the last month so I was surprised how I played the other day. I didn’t wasn’t great.
“There were a lot of positives. I didn’t play anywhere near my best and got away with it.
“But today I was in my zone, had great body language and played well.
“I just wanted to remind everyone that I’m pretty good.”
In this state of mind, no one will want to face the Australian.
