Jelly Roll broke down in tears after being nominated for two Grammy Awards in a video shared to his Instagram account on Friday.
Earlier today, it was announced that the 38-year-old had been nominated for the Recording Academy’s Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance awards.
The hitmaker, who was recently joined by his wife Bunnie XO at the CMA Awards, later shared a video in an effort to express his gratitude for the nominations.
Jelly Roll, born Jason Bradley DeFord, began his emotional video by saying he was honored to be selected for the Grammy Awards.
“The greatest honor an artist can hear is being nominated for a Grammy. I got to hear that this morning,” he said.
The Son Of A Sinner singer didn’t hold back tears in the clip, during which he said he repeatedly tried to express his feelings earlier in the day.
He said: “I haven’t cried like this since my dad died. I tried to make this video seven times, y’all.
Jelly Roll concluded his video by thanking his fans for their continued support, saying: “I love you all, man. So fucking much.”
The CMT Award-winning artist also shared a message in the caption of his post stating that he would be sharing more of his feelings on the nominations in the near future.
“I’m embarrassed to post this, but my wife says honesty and brutality got me this far…I’ll post a fuller thought on this when I come to my senses,” he said writing.
Jelly Roll also remarked that he “just never imagined” that he would be nominated for multiple Grammy Awards.
The nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance was for the remix of his song Save Me, on which he collaborated with Lainey Wilson.
Artists such as Ice Spice, Gracie Abrams and Noah Kahan have all been nominated for Best New Artist.
The honors will be presented at the 66th annual Grammy Awards, which will take place in Los Angeles on February 4.
Jelly Roll recently won several awards at the CMA Awards ceremony, which took place last Wednesday.
The artist was named New Artist of the Year at this prestigious event.
The hitmaker also performed his track Need a Favor, released last December alongside Wynonna Judd.
