“I can’t believe what’s happening”
Just like the rest of us, Jake Paul was equally surprised by news of an exhibition between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Deji.
It was officially announced on Monday that Mayweather Jr and Deji will fight November 13 in Dubai in an exhibition bout.
Deji has a win in the boxing ring, while Mayweather Jr retired undefeated after 50 professional fights
This will be Mayweather Jr’s fifth showing since retiring from professional boxing, with his most recent outing as he stopped MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura in two rounds last weekend.
Paul has a history with Deji, having beaten him in 2018 when the pair first appeared in a boxing ring.
There is also a history between Paul and Mayweather Jr, as the American social media star stole his hat in preparation for an exhibition fight with his brother, Logan Paul, which led to a mass brawl.
Paul has since called for a fight with Mayweather Jr, which is why he was even more shocked when it was announced that the self-proclaimed “TBE” (The Best Ever) would be fighting Deji.
“Very well ladies and gentlemen,” Paul said on social media. “Imagine this, it’s 2022 and Floyd Mayweather is ruining his legacy by fighting strangers, wasting his fans’ money, wasting their time.
“He doesn’t even know the names of the guys he fights and then he chooses to fight [Deji]an influencer, to earn some money to pay his taxes.

“Floyd Mayweather tells Jake Paul that he will only fight Jake Paul if it comes down to his weight, 140 pounds or something. I can’t believe what’s going on in the world, I can’t believe that it’s real.
“Floyd, I’m going to fight you and you know this is one of the biggest fights in boxing. I’m 175 pounds, you’re 165 pounds, we can do this, make a couple hundred million dollars, but what will be your excuse.
“You trust my brother’s weight, so why do you care what I weigh? Because you know what’s going to happen.
“I mean I got your 0, I don’t just mean I got your hat, but you’re gonna find a way to dance around it.
Paul will have to overtake Silva on October 29 before he can worry about Mayweather Jr
“You said, ‘Once he fights a professional fighter, he’ll be destroyed, it’ll be bad for him’, so why not let that be you.
“Best of all time, there’s only one Mayweather, but he’s scared to fight Jake Paul, I can’t believe what’s going on.”
For now, however, Paul will have to turn his attention away from Mayweather Jr and arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all time in Anderson Silva, as the duo have a fight scheduled for October 29.
