The lawyer representing the chief electrician of the film “Rust”, Serge Svetnoy, told Fox News that Halyna Hutchins’ husband will “definitely” make legal decisions “when he is ready”.

The statement was made following Alec Baldwin’s television interview on Thursday about the crash on set that killed the director of photography.

“Mr. Baldwin’s statements that he is troubled or surprised that Matthew Hutchins did not file the first trial fails to appreciate the extent of Mr. Hutchins’ unimaginable suffering,” said lawyer Gary A Dordick to Fox News. “Mr. Hutchins will undoubtedly make decisions on any potential litigation when he is ready. It is not for a negligent defendant in a lawsuit to give advice or opinions on who and when to initiate a lawsuit. “

Of note, Baldwin did not say he was “confused or surprised” that the widower did not file the first case. A spokesperson for the grieving father did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

During the emotional ABC shoot, Baldwin told the host he didn’t pull the trigger of a pistol he was holding on the New Mexico film set that killed the man 42 years old.

“I didn’t pull the trigger,” said the 63-year-old. “I would never point a gun at someone and pull the trigger. Never.”

The special was Baldwin’s first shoot since filming October 21 on the set of the movie Western. Authorities said the actor learned the weapon was safe to handle, but continue to investigate how a live bullet ended up in the weapon.

At one point, Baldwin broke down in tears as he described Hutchins. Director Joel Souza was also injured.

When asked how a live round ended on set, Baldwin replied, “I have no idea.”

“Someone put a live bullet into a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property,” he said.

Previously, Svetnoy had taken to Facebook and blamed Hutchins’ death on “the person who was supposed to check the gun on the site didn’t do it; the person who must have announced that the loaded weapon was at the site did not do so; the the person who should have checked that gun before bringing it to the set didn’t. “

He claimed that she died of both “negligence and unprofessional”.

“To save a dime, you sometimes hire people who are not fully qualified for a complicated and dangerous job, and you risk the lives of other close people and yours as well,” Svetnoy wrote. “I understand you’re still fighting for the budget, but you can’t allow that to happen.”

“It is true that professionals can cost a little more and sometimes be a little more demanding, but it is worth it. No penny saved is worth the LIFE of the person!” He continued.

In his post, Svetnoy confirmed that he was standing next to Hutchins when she was shot and held her while she died.

“Yes, I was neck and neck with Halyna in that fatal shot that took her life and injured director Joel Souza,” Svetnoy recalls. “I held her in my arms as she died. Her blood was on my hands.”
