Hunter Biden scandal heats up as mainstream media wakes up: Russian ‘disinformation’ is no more

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Mainstream media attacks and a DOJ investigative probe include the latest talk surrounding the Hunter Biden email scandal, but as former Holocaust deniers come to the consensus that Biden’s dealings with China justify the skepticism, Fox Nation digs deeper.

A new live episode of Fox Nation hosted by Fox News commentator and legal analyst Gregg Jarrett succeeds the four-parter “Who is Hunter Biden?“series that shaped the backstory and scandals that plague President Biden’s son.

This time, Jarrett dives into the latest explosive developments surrounding Hunter Biden and moderates a discussion of potential ethical violations associated with his dealings with China — violations that the mainstream media, for months, have labeled “Russian disinformation.”

“Why are the New York Times, Washington Post and CNN now reluctantly, reluctantly and belatedly – 16, 17 months later – coming out and saying ‘oops, the laptop is real, it’s genuine, yes, it contains incriminating emails?’ asked Jarrett during the episode’s panel segment.

Jarrett theorized two possible reasons why the mainstream media chose to ignore the smoldering Hunter Biden scandal until it reached boiling point.

“First, they succeeded in their goal of protecting Joe Biden by defeating Donald Trump,” he said.

“Number two: they don’t want their readers or viewers waking up one morning and seeing the news that Hunter Biden has been indicted, and maybe Joe Biden is involved in all of this, so they walk out but without a penny of mea culpa or apology.”

Outlets that had previously ridiculed the scandal as fictional and worked to silence the New York Post for leaking a controversial article on the subject just before the 2020 election recently backed down from their criticism in the most unexpected way.

“Last week, ‘The Washington Post’ validated nearly 22,000 emails on the laptop,” Jarrett said, adding that the Post went even further than that by criticizing the president for falsely claiming that her son “had never earned a dime” in China.

“Then there’s ‘The New York Times’, which previously derided the laptop as fiction, suddenly also had an epiphany. ‘The Times’ conceded Hunter Biden could be charged with tax evasion, money laundering money and non-registration as a foreign agent,” he added.

Problems for Hunter and Joe Biden were further compounded when Fox News also reported that current White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain solicited $20,000 from Hunter for the Vice President’s Residence Foundation (VPRF) in 2012. .

The development has eroded some credibility from those who say then-Vice President Biden was completely uninvolved.

Where could these developments lead? Miranda Devine says that while she thinks President Biden might be involved, she doesn’t expect Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel.

“They are all out to protect Joe Biden, and when you look at how this case unfolds, you have allegations that there may be tax evasion. This only concerns Hunter Biden. There could be violations of FARA that he was – that Hunter Biden was a foreign agent and didn’t register. This only concerns Hunter Biden.”

“The media, and I think the DOJ and the FBI, are working overtime to isolate Joe Biden from Hunter Biden. So any crime that I think will come from a corrupt DOJ and FBI will just be crimes that are specific to Hunter.”
