Hugo Lloris wants more pride and belief from Tottenham as he calls for unity on horrible night for Nuno

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford ensured a critical victory for Red Devils boss under the late Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and simultaneously stepped up the pressure on his Spurs counterpart Nuno Espirito Santo, who faced stiff reviews from his own fans on a miserable night for the hosts.
Many fans booed the players off the pitch after another disheartening and toothless performance from timid Tottenham on goal, who again failed to register a shot on target and have now lost exactly half of their Premier League games so far this season.
It was a third loss in four games in all competitions after a narrow Carabao Cup victory at Burnley was preceded by 1-0 defeats at the hands of Vitesse Arnhem and rivals West Ham, leaving Nuno under a intense pressure after only four months of work.
“I think everything was fine until we conceded the first goal. In the second half there were too many mistakes with the ball,” Tottenham captain and goalkeeper Lloris told Sky Sports.
“With two or three assists they created chances and they scored two more goals. At times we were too naive in the second half. We expect more. We expect more conviction. More pride.
“It is not the first time [we have played this poorly]even at home. We expected better against Chelsea. Next goal is Thursday [against Vitesse]. We have to re-analyze and find some good.
“It’s not a good time at all. We concede too much, we don’t score enough, we don’t create enough. But I want to believe in the club, in myself and in my teammates.
“We’ve only played 10 games in the league, but there are too many ups and downs. In a game, we go through so many emotions. We always seem to go down. Confidence is also essential.”
Lloris was not surprised by the boos that rained full-time around Tottenham Hotspur stadium, although he appealed for unity.
“When you are a professional you expect criticism. Fans expect more from us, but now is not the time to give up, this is the time to stick together,” he said.
“But we also have to find the solution to move forward.”
