What are the energy performance diagnostics of French housing really worth? A survey, published Tuesday, May 24 by 60 million consumers, reveals “mistakes galore”.
The diagnosis of energetic performance (DPE) is a must for selling or renting a home. It allows you to know the characteristics of the accommodation, such as its surface area, the thickness of the walls or the heating method. A label from A to G takes five criteria into account: heating, hot water, air conditioning, lighting and other consumption.
A new formula was implemented in July 2021 to combat thermal strainers. According to 60 million consumers, diagnoses are not always reliable. Fanny Guibert, journalist, notes “mistakes galore”: “bad surfaces“, “build date errors” or on the insulation or the walls. However, these errors have consequences: from the end of August, the rents of housing classified F or G can no longer be increased.
