Here’s a Real-Life Demo of iPhone 15 Satellite Roadside Assistance (Video)

Apple and AAA recently teamed up to provide roadside assistance to iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 customers experiencing car issues without cellular coverage. Brian Tong has created a new video that shows satellite roadside assistance in action.

In the video, Brian Tong explains the process of actually using Satellite Roadside Assistance and how it works on iPhone 14 and iPhone 15.

As we mentioned earlier, the feature is invoked by creating a new message in the Messages app and typing “route” to bring up roadside assistance. This only appears when your iPhone is out of cellular range and SOS appears in the carrier field.

In the video demonstration, he uses the example of an AAA soldier going out to jump a dead battery on a car. Of course, you’ll need an iPhone 14 or later and an active AAA subscription in the US for this feature to work. Otherwise, be prepared to pay AAA for the service call. T-Mobile offers select customers a free one-year subscription. Otherwise, AAA is sold separately.
