In detail, three departments are on orange wind alert: Haute-Corse, Var and Alpes-Maritimes. And six others are on flood alert: Vendée, Charente-Maritime, Pas-de-Calais, Nord, Meurthe-et-Moselle and Vosges.
According to the weather forecast agency, Storm Frederico “is evacuating to the east, with active tailing behind, giving strong gusts to the southeast of the country.” After a particularly violent wind in Puy-de-Dôme this afternoon (a peak was recorded at 126 km/h), gusts of between 100 and 140 km/h were recorded in the evening in the south-east .
For its part, Vigicrues emphasizes that “the passafe of the Frederico disturbance associated with generally saturated soils favors the resumption of floods on the most sensitive watercourses”. The Vosges sector could experience significant accumulations during the night from Thursday to Friday.
