Heartbreaking 911 call, Goshen shooting surveillance video released

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux and Dist. Atti. Tim Ward announced on Friday the arrest of two men accused of killing six people in the California farming town of Goshen last month.

The brutality of the massacre – which included the killing of a 16-year-old girl and her 10-month-old son – shocked people across the country. Noah David Beard, 25, and Angel Uriarte, 35, have each been charged with murder.

Announcing the arrests, the sheriff released grainy surveillance video showing the young mother fleeing with her son moments before they were killed. It also broadcast a 911 call from a woman who was inside the family compound during the attack but survived. Later, the sheriff released a transcript of that call.

The video shows Alissa Parraz, 16, walking through a dark alley with her baby in her arms towards a locked gate blocking the street. Unable to escape, she hoists her baby over a nearby wooden fence and lowers it onto something on the other side before crossing the driveway and jumping over the chain link fence.

A few moments later, a man walks towards them. He raises his right arm, the dark shadow of a gun visible in his hand, then the video cuts out. Both mother and child were shot in the back of the neck, Boudreaux said.

In the audio of the 911 call, a woman inside the house is heard crying and pleading.

The following is a transcript of the call released Friday by the sheriff’s office.

Operator: 911, how can I help you?

Caller: Hello.

Operator: Hello, ma’am, do you have an emergency?

Caller: Yeah.

Operator: What’s going on?

Caller: On Harvest in Goshen, shots were fired.

Operator: Do you live in an apartment or is this the house?

Caller: Home, home, hurry up.

Operator: What’s going on?

Caller: They shot my boyfriend. They keep shooting outside. I don’t know if they are still there. I am scared. Because they always shoot outside. Please hurry, please. I don’t know where they are now [gasp] they always shoot.

Operator: Are they still shooting?

Caller: Yes. Hurry up please. They come back. They come back. They are coming back.

Operator: Who’s coming in?

Caller: Guys. Please hurry. Do you hear them? Someone else is screaming now.

[Shots heard.]

Caller: [Gasp] Now it’s them. They shoot into the house.

Operator: What do you hear now?

Caller: Nothing. I don’t know if they are there; I’m too afraid. I hear sirens coming. THANKS. My friend, he’s on the floor; he is hit in the stomach.

Operator: Is he breathing?

Caller: Is he breathing? I don’t know. He’s still breathing, he’s still breathing. Wait, baby. Wait please.

Operator: We have help on the way, okay? I have an officer just around the corner.

Caller: It’s okay, baby, you’ll get there. You can do it. They are there. They are there. They are there. Come here. Come here, watch your feet. They are here with me, okay.

Operator: You did an excellent job, ma’am. Good luck.
