Harry Styles reunites with ‘Grammy Granny’

Nearly four months after the Grammys, Reina Lafantaisie’s love for Harry Styles continues to shine.
Lafantaisie, a self-proclaimed “superfan” who presented Styles with his Grammy album of the year for “Harry’s House” in February, reunited with the pop star after attending his Monday concert in Coventry, England.
The 78-year-old said she and her family were invited backstage after the show, where Styles greeted her with a hug.
“He’s the most caring, humble, down to earth person and such a great sense of humor,” Lafantaisie wrote on Instagram alongside a pair of photos that captured the moment. for posterity. “His smile and joy of living light up the room!”

She also shared a short video of their interaction, showing Styles singing a few bars of Peaches & Herb’s 1978 classic, “Reunited.”
Lafantaisie, who lives in Canada and calls herself the “Grammy Granny” on Instagram, was among a group of fans who were chosen by the Recording Academy to appear onstage at the 2023 Grammy Awards and help host Trevor Noah award the prize to this year’s edition. Winner of album of the year.

Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight Canada’ after the Grammys aired, Lafantaisie’s granddaughter Renée Grenon said she was contacted by a member of the Recording Academy after sharing a clip of her grandmother gushing over Styles which went viral on TikTok.

“I happened to be sitting next to her,” Grenon explained, “and for about 10 minutes she kept explaining to everyone in the room why Harry Styles is the number one artist.”
She went on to note, “And so, I guess a producer from the Grammys saw this TikTok and emailed me, but we didn’t really know what was going to happen until the last minute. ”
For her part, Lafantaisie said she was “in a daze” during her onstage exchange with Styles.
