Harry Kane edges ‘hero’ Jimmy Greaves for Tottenham goals and scores 200th Premier League goal faster than Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney but striker ‘doesn’t get enough credit’

Harry Kane edged out Jimmy Greaves for Tottenham’s goals, scoring the opener in their home clash against Manchester City.
The Tottenham striker got ahead of them after good work from midfielder Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg, who collected the ball in a dangerous position before launching Kane.

The 15th-minute effort was a historic 267th goal for Spurs for Kane, meaning he is now ahead of club legend Greaves.
It is also his 200th Premier League goal on his 304th appearance in the competition, quicker than the only two men to score more goals in the competition, Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney.
Premier League record goalscorer Shearer, who has 260 strikes to his name, hit 200 on his 306th appearance, while Manchester United legend Rooney did so on his 462nd appearance.
Despite all this, talkSPORT’s Scott Minto thinks the Tottenham star and England captain isn’t getting enough credit.
Reacting to the goal, Minto said: “It was great play from Hojbjerg and great finishing from Kane. I think Greaves was one of the best finishers in the game, but Harry Kane is right there for me.
“He could be one of the best footballers this country and the Premier League has ever seen.

Kane will now aim for the Premier League’s all-time goalscoring record
“I still think he’s underrated, I still think he doesn’t get enough credit.”
Kane’s effort was enough to secure them all three points as Spurs lost 1-0 to City.
“It’s hard to put into words and I’m so glad it was a win,” Kane said after the game.
“We worked so hard to keep a clean sheet. It was so special to do it in front of the fans. We’ve talked about it so much in the past few weeks and to do it in such a big game is even more special.
“It’s a great feeling. When I started playing regularly it wasn’t even in my imagination to score 200 Premier League goals and I still have a few years left so hopefully there will be more. there will be more to come.
“[Jimmy Greaves] is a complete hero, one of the best strikers to play the game, so to be in this conversation is special. And passing it is a huge moment for me.
