Greg Gutfeld: Favoring the individual over identity politics

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

So this week the media finally caught on to the crime because they finally found a criminal who fits the bill, while they ignore the others who don’t. And make no mistake, he’s a villain. And I credit the outrage, even if most of it is just to exploit a tragedy.

The CNN political reporter concludes that white Americans aren’t doing enough to fight racism.

CNN REPORTER: You know, it’s often African Americans who talk about racism. It really is a white cultural issue that white Americans have to come to terms with. Why are African Americans, and black and brown people more generally, cast as others or demonized so easily in so much of our politics? And we always talk about white supremacy, but that’s also how people talk about people crossing the border. The demonization of this circulates around these people who, in one way or another, are also a threat to America.

We only demonize. So, racism is a white cultural issue and white people should accept it. How does she know that’s not the case? What planet is she on? And why do they only get CNN and MSNBC there?

GREG GUTFELD: BIDEN UNIFIES THE COUNTRY BY DISAPPROVING IT

But she echoes what her peers say that white people share guilt for their race’s worst actions, as if individual choice, responsibility or mental illness didn’t exist. Only a primordial pigment that unites us in complicity. Talk about a wide brush.

Meanwhile, this drug thinks those who embrace free speech do so to appease racists.

CHUCK TODD: Well, Garrett, look at how the right is trying to weaponize the idea that DHS was basically going to try to police hateful rhetoric. To the right. They want to make believe that it is a kind of big brother. And it’s like that’s always what the right does to appease the white supremacist movement by saying, “Hey, free speech, don’t get to me.”

Yes. So if you’re for free speech, you’re helping the KKK. It’s a leap that Evel Knievel couldn’t make. Really. MSNBC maybe it’s time to dump Todd.

Disgusted by myself. He’s a jerk. A turd injured in the head under a toupee. I could go on forever, but I won’t.

And then there’s this guy who says we need a new war on terror. The terrorists being of course Republicans.

ERROLL SOUTH: My advice is that we have to treat him like the terrorist threat he is. You know, we mobilized on 9/11. There was no doubt what the country was going to do. We face the same threat.

We should call them the national terrorist party.

Hmm. Well, then they’ll say Republicans are dividing. So this raises a silly question because it’s being raised by silly people.

Are you responsible for someone’s crime because you share a pigment? And hasn’t it been hammered into every white person’s head since they were kids not to make that kind of generalization, especially when it comes to race.

This is what the Democrats are riding on and it’s a unicycle with a flat tire. But let’s follow the logic. If you are responsible for what bad white people do, what about what good white people do? When a white person does something good, should you applaud me? Is Elon Musk privatizing space travel and building electric cars canceling me having the same pigment as a mass shooter or me at a dance party like I’m in a plaster while gnawing carrot sticks?

Isn’t it true white supremacy that by virtue of race I played a part in the invention of air travel? Well, I did that more than once in college. I took acid then jumped off the roof of the library into a dumpster full of trash.

But according to this logic of identity politics, I own everything that is good and everything that is bad, which is crazy. By pretending that all white people are complicit in the act of a white madman. CNN opens the door to true white supremacy. If white people put a man on the moon, I guess that means I might as well be Buzz Aldrin. And you are welcome to the Tang.

Silly. It’s silly. But let’s play this game. Should all Japanese share the guilt of Pearl Harbor? And should all Japanese people be credited with having the best toilets on Earth? Admit it. They are pretty good. Very clean.

Should all Germans answer for the Holocaust? I say yes, except for Heidi Klum. But they also gave us the pretzel.

Should the All Blacks be credited with inventing the greatest music of all time? I bet you didn’t even know they invented polka music. But they are also partly responsible for the Black-Eyed Peas. Yeah, I know.

See how stupid that logic is? MSNBC and CNN choose the worst of a group and attribute it to the whole. But how would they feel if they were judged by Joy Reid or Jeffrey Toobin? In fact, I do. All the time. I am a hypocrite.

This is part of their single-variable thinking. They have no mental dashboard as they weather the storms of life, no data, statistics, probabilities, experiences. They only see life through one filter: race.

And me then? Well, in case you haven’t noticed, I’m running out. In new research on violent crime, short men were twice as likely to be convicted of a violent crime as tall men.

Now, maybe most guys are more likely to hit Danny DeVito than Dwayne Johnson. But then you find out that the real variable to predict violent crime was IQ. It’s the little idiots to blame. So I’m off the hook for stealing that Ferris wheel.

And it’s not just in short people that differences like IQ occur. This happens in all groups. In fact, there are greater differences within a group than there are between two groups.

That’s why you have an Einstein and a Tom Arnold. That’s why you have Thomas Sowell and Joy Reid. There are greater differences within the race than between the races. It’s huge. And why? Because we are individuals. We’re bright, funny, weird, high IQ. But enough about me. We are also depressed and crazy and vulnerable and dangerous. Alright, enough about Kat.

But it’s not between groups. It’s between people. People. So make up my own explanation for small, violent, stupid asses because I’m small? Surely not. Just like I don’t take credit for all the great work the little people do. Like playing the role of shoetree in my closet.

If you prioritize group identity over the individual, you would. But you don’t. Because we see the person, only the left in the media sees the groups. The only herd mentality on our side is to get away from them. And the only place the left doesn’t want a division is in math class.

Look Kat. Look at Tyrus and look at me. The most important thing to take away from this show is that we are different people. I don’t see Kat as a white chick. Tyrus doesn’t see me as a white man. Why, he doesn’t see me at all, whether I’m near or far from him. I don’t just see him as a giant who can throw me through space with his little finger. I see him as possibly the smartest guy I’ve ever met. I just hope Kudlow isn’t watching. I said the same to her in the steam room and I see Kat as the funniest creature on earth and she’s not even trying to be funny. She’s just Kat.

So in short, fucking white supremacy, fucking identity politics and fucking media. What we’re doing right now on this show is the answer. We embrace the person, not the pigment. So fuck your ID bull ****. It is an evil that does not help any race. It’s just a matter of power, as evil always is.
