George Santos voters air their grievances with Republican ‘fraud’ lies

Voters of Rep-elect George Santos (RN.Y.) told CNN’s Eva McKend they felt ‘completely betrayed’ by the Republican and weighed in on his litany of lies last week (You can watch voters weigh in on Santos in the clip below).

Santos, who is believed to be the subject of at least two investigations, has been criticized for lies and several inconsistencies regarding details he shared about his background, such as his upbringing, ties to Holocaust survivors, the date of her mother’s death and her employment history. .

Teodora Choolfaian, a Santos voter, told McKend she felt “completely betrayed” and no longer supported the candidate because of the controversy.

“George Santos is an impostor,” said Choolfaian, who turned up at a rally Thursday attended by former Santos opponent Robert Zimmerman.

“The whole personality he’s created, the ability to deceive us, is so unsettling. This man shouldn’t be allowed to hold office. And we all know that. I want to make sure Republicans know that too.

Jewish community leader Jack Mandel, who had met Santos before and saw him as a new face for the Republican Party, said he would “absolutely not” vote for Santos if the election were held tomorrow.

“The Holocaust is something that touches the heart of every Jew and someone who would use it as a talking point, to get votes I think [it] is wrong.”

A Santos supporter, however, told McKend that the Republican had done nothing legally wrong.

“He admitted to lying, and most Christians believe in forgiveness. Maybe not forget but move on. Let’s see what happens,” said Tom Zmich.
