Gary Neville still in Dragon’s Den mode as he lashes out at talkSPORT host by reposting Nemanja Vidic stats

Gary Neville took aim at Gabby Agbonlahor after the talkSPORT host named Nemanja Vidic as the most overrated defender in Premier League history.

The old Aston Villa The captain was asked to name the best centre-backs of the Premier League era and highlighted Rio Ferdinand And John Terry as the main pair – and, freshly appearing in Dragon’s Den, Neville was having none of it.

He also made notable mentions to Sol Campbell, King Ledley And Vincent Kompany but when asked to name the most overrated defender, former Manchester United star Vidic was the only name that came to mind.

“I’ve said it before, I didn’t find Vidic difficult to play against,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT Breakfast. “Every time he got closer, I circled behind him. I could hold the ball for him. Other players might say otherwise, but that’s my opinion.

Neville, the Serbian’s former teammate tough tackle and new addition to BBC show Dragon’s Den, hit back at Agbonlahor by reposting a stat from a United-themed account on X, officially known as Twitter.

The post read: “So Gabby Agbonlahor said Vidic was the most overrated defender in PL history and had no trouble playing against him.

“Just a reminder that Agbonlahor played #MUFC 22 times in his career and won once, it shouldn’t have been that easy back then.”

Vidic is widely recognized as one of the greatest centre-backs in the Premier League, forging a feared defensive partnership alongside Ferdinand.

He signed for United from a Russian club Spartak Moscow in 2005 in a bargain £7 million deal and quickly became a household name for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

Vidic went on to make 300 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 21 times during his eight-year stay at Old Trafford.

The Serb left for Inter Milan in 2014, but not before winning five Premier League titles, Champions League success in 2008 and the FIFA Club World Cup.

His efforts helped him land the Premier League Player of the Season award in 2009 and 2011 and was named in the FIFA FIFPRO World XI twice.

We’re not sure you’ve convinced us, Gabby!
