In the absence of Harry Wilson, Neeskens Kebano starts for Fulham. Freshly arrived from Arsenal, goalkeeper Bernd Leno is one of the substitutes, with Marek Rodak starting between the sticks. Joao Palhina starts in midfield after arriving from Sporting and fellow debutant Andreas Perreira is also in the side. Fellow summer signings Shane Duffy, Kevin Mbabu and Manor Solomon are all on the bench.

Alisson is back for Liverpool but otherwise it’s like you were from the Community Shield last Saturday. Bobby Firmino will lead the Liverpool line, while new boy Darwin Nunez has to settle for a place on the bench.

Injury News

Fulham received a hammer blow at the start of the season when they learned that Harry Wilson could be out for at least two months with a knee injury suffered by the Wales international in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Wolves . Joe Bryan has a broken hand and appears to miss, while Nathan Chalobah is also sidelined.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is set to return from injury to face Fulham but his Irish understudy Caoimhin Kelleher has a groin injury and is, according to manager Jurgen Klopp, “still weeks away”.

Diogo Jota has missed the entirety of Liverpool’s pre-season with a hamstring injury he suffered on international duty earlier this summer, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ibrahim Konate, Kostas Tsimikas and Curtis Jones were all ruled out for today’s game. Naby Keita has been sick but could feature.

Premier League: Fulham v Liverpool

With one game less and just 379 to go, the new Premier League season continues with Fulham hosting Liverpool at Craven Cottage. It’s a daunting prospect for the west London side, whose manager Marco Silva lamented the lack of new faces in his squad earlier this week. Since bolstered by the arrival of central defender Shane Duffy on loan from Brighton, Fulham are hoping to shake off their reputation as a yo-yo club by avoiding an immediate return to the Championship.

By contrast, their visitors appeared to be firing most – if not all – of the Community Shield cylinders last weekend and will be hoping to do better than last season by winning the league. In a fairly candid conversation with the press, Silva admitted his side were not ready to start the season, but a long injury list at Liverpool could give him hope of something to come out of this game. Kick-off at Craven Cottage is at 12.30pm, but stay tuned in the meantime for team news and the build.
