‘Friends’ Co-Star Lisa Kudrow’s Tribute to Matthew Perry Pays Tribute to Actor

Lisa Kudrow is opening up about her friendship with her late “Friends” co-star Matthew Perry.
Kudrow, who co-starred with the late actor on the sitcom “Friends” from 1994 to 2004, paid tribute to Perry in an Instagram post Wednesday following Perry’s Oct. 28 death. The actress, who played Phoebe Buffay alongside Perry’s Chandler Bing, shared a photo of the couple.
“Filming for the pilot, Friends Like Us, picked up and then immediately we were at the NBC Upfronts. Then… You suggested we play poker AND we made it so much fun while we were initially bonding. Thanks for this,” Kudrow wrote. “Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said that my muscles ached and tears streamed down my face EVERY DAY.”
Aside from his comedic talent, Kudrow expressed gratitude for Perry’s generosity and resilience.
“Thank you for your open heart in a six-way relationship that required compromise. And a lot of ‘talking,'” Kudrow wrote. “Thank you for coming to work when you weren’t well and then being completely brilliant.”
She concluded: “Thank you for the best 10 years a person can live. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for everything I have learned about GRACE and LOVE from knowing you. Thank you for the time that I was able to spend with you, Matthew.”.
Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home on October 28. He was 54 years old at the time of his death. Following a joint statement released by the “Friends” cast mourning Perry, his co-stars shared individual personal tributes for the actor.
“Oh my god, this one has been profound…Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane rush of emotions that I’ve never experienced before,” Jennifer Aniston wrote on Instagram. “We loved him deeply. He was so much a part of our DNA. It was always the 6 of us.”
Matt LeBlanc, who played Chandler’s best friend Joey Tribbiani, shared a series of photos from the show over the years, including one of the cast sharing a group hug.
“It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye. The times we spent together are honestly some of the favorite times of my life,” LeBlanc wrote on Instagram. “It was an honor to share the stage with you and call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I will never forget you. Ever.”
