Former Tommy Fury opponent and Jake Paul sparring partner Anthony Taylor explains why he punched ‘bully’ Dillon Danis ahead of KSI boxing event

Anthony Taylor explained why he got into a street fight with Dillon Danis before KSI’s latest Misfits boxing event.

After being announced as KSI’s next opponent, Danis slapped and then threw his coffee at the YouTuber-turned-boxer who had to be restrained by security.

The first time KSI and Danis came face to face, it almost came to blows

That wasn’t the end, however, as when the 2-0 Bellator prospect left the room, he was confronted by Taylor who is Jake Paul’s friend and a former opponent of Tommy Fury.

Taylor landed cleanly overhand which sent Danis back up before a mass fight broke out as people around the two men began fighting in the street.

‘Pretty Boy’ recently opened up about why things got physical between him and Danis.

“Dillon Danis, who just arrived, he was just a bully. He goes after reporters, beyond being tough on his MMA buddies, or whoever he is with,” Taylor told MMA Fighting.

“But he was just acting tough, acting like he couldn’t even be touched because, ‘I’m this world jiu-jitsu champion, nobody’s going to fight me.’

“So he comes and does his thing with KSI, flips his hat or punches him in the face, throws coffee and runs away.

Former Tommy Fury opponent felt like he had to teach Danis a lesson

“Like, man, don’t come to a YouTube event trying to be a bully to other fighters, especially YouTubers who don’t have any legitimate fighting experience.

“They learn to fight. It’s called a YouTube event, don’t come and try to be a bully. You do not see [UFC star] Jon Jones trying to bully YouTubers.

“I took this in my hands to say something. Nobody for years said or did anything to Dillon, and he got away with it for so many years doing it to Logan Paul, Jake Paul, Khabib, all those [people]and he got away with it.

“Don’t come to an event, try to be a bully, push the journalists, because now I’m going to call you. You want to fight YouTubers and boxers, fight me. I’m an MMA fighter too. What’s up? That’s how it got out of hand.”

He was infamous for attacking Khabib after UFC 229

Despite apparently shaking Danis with one blow, Taylor insists the punch he threw was far from what he’s actually capable of, adding: ‘I caught it at 30%.

“I caught it at the end of the right overhand, like at the very end. It’s not like I walked in there where he caught the full whip.

Taylor is fresh off an exhibition bout with Love Island winner Jack Fincham, who he outscored in four rounds on the Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Deji undercard.

It is not yet known who he will face next, but he recently expressed interest in facing Mayweather, KSI and Danis.
