Floyd Mayweather announces bizarre opponent, date and location for next exhibition bout, with UFC legend Anderson Silva reportedly set to return on undercard

Floyd Mayweather is set to return to the ring for another exhibition fight with Don Moore on May 14 on the helipad atop the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

In January, the retired 50-0 boxing legend held a press conference atop the city’s famous hotel and explained that he was planning a fight to take place at his iconic helipad.

Those plans initially fell through, with the “Money Kicks” YouTuber being the first targeted opponent for an exposure in February that never happened.

Now, however, a new enemy has been found and the plans are set in stone.

All that’s been released so far is a teaser video from organizers FrontRow and ROQU, who are working alongside Mayweather Promotions on what they’re calling the “Global Titans Fight Series.”

However, further details have been reported by TMZ, which claims the fight will be an eight-round exhibition contest.

This is identical to Floyd’s fight with Logan Paul in June and similar to his 2018 New Year’s Eve exhibition against Tenshin Nasukawa in Tokyo.

They also report that UFC legend Anderson Silva will face fellow Brazilian Bruno Machado on the undercard, with Badou Jack also expected to feature.

Moore is a former training partner of Mayweather.

The 18-0-1 American made his boxing debut in 1999 and fought regularly until 2008.

Since then, however, he has only had three sporadic contests and last competed in 2016.

The helipad previously hosted a training session for Anthony Joshua in 2017.

Tiger Woods also hit golf balls from the top and Roger Federer played a game with Andre Agassi when the helipad was converted into a tennis court.
