Florida man charged with driving SUV to ex-wife’s house

MIAMI – A man has been arrested after being charged with intentionally ramming his SUV into a house, endangering all seven people inside.

The Orange Co. Sheriff’s Office said Nisan Ortega, 47, showed up at his ex-wife’s home in Apopka around 2 a.m. Monday. The ex, Ingrid Alas, said she wouldn’t let him in because he gets violent when he drinks alcohol.

Ortega then reportedly got into his SUV, slammed into a car, then backed up and drove straight out the porch.

Evelyn Urrea, Alas’ niece, said she was sleeping in the house when it happened.

“I was scared, my sister and I were in the bedroom when we heard the car come in, we ran away,” she said.

Alas, they were all able to escape the house unharmed through a back door.

Ortega has been charged with seven counts of attempted murder.
