A young Florida Chick-fil-A worker foiled a carjacking attempt by rushing to the aid of a woman and baby as he tackled the suspect.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged William Branch, 43, with carjacking with a weapon and battery.

The victim was helping the baby out of her car in Chick-fil-A when Branch approached her holding a stick and asked for her car keys, police said. Branch then allegedly grabbed the keys from the woman’s belt, opened her car door, and walked inside.
The fast food chain employee intervened when the woman began “screaming”, authorities said, and Branch allegedly punched the woman in the face. Police said the employee was not seriously injured in the scuffle.

A video shot by a witness shows the man tackling and clinging to Branch before taking him to the ground.
The police arrived on the scene and arrested Branch. They later praised the Chick-fil-A worker for his bravery.
“Congratulations to this young man for his courage!” police said in a statement.
Social media users praised the unknown employee for his bravery on Okaloosa’s social media accounts.
“I hope my sons grow up to be this brave.” one said. Another commented, “Just when I thought Chick-fil-A couldn’t be better!! Like a boss!”
