Fantasy RB PPR Ranking Week 16: Who to start with, sit to run backwards in fantasy football

| Top stories | abc News

Last week wasn’t as bad as it could have been as running back. It wasn’t great – injuries and COVID issues always caused a lot of headaches on the list – but there weren’t a lot of stud backs affected unexpectedly. There’s a good chance more havoc will be done in the second round of the Fantasy Football qualifiers, so expect plenty of updates to our Fantasy RB PPR Week 16 leaderboard throughout the week.

Ideally, matchups would be the biggest worry, and there are certainly a few that could cause some regular newbies to finish their benches. The toughest calls in the PPR leagues will be Chase Edmonds (vs. Colts) and Myles Gaskin (@ Saints). Both face brutal opponents, but their higher targeting means usually keep them in PPR queues. However, the two struggled last week, and while we can attribute part of that to the two being ‘relaxed’ in their respective rosters, it still gives us a break this week. Also, in win or come home scenarios like the ones most are faced with right now, it’s fair to question whether a high ceiling or a high floor is more valuable. Most of the time it depends on your specific match.

James Conner (vs. Colts), Myles Gaskin (@ Saints), Devonta Freeman (@ Bengals), Chuba Hubbard (vs. Buccaneers), D’Onta Foreman (vs. 49ers) and Devin Singletary (@ Patriots) are also in the spotlight. difficult this week. Conner could be TD-or-bust in PPR as he doesn’t think he sees that many targets with Edmonds back, but his upside TD is too high to ignore. Foreman is also difficult to sit down, as he gets the vast majority of Tennessee races, but he’s not sure either. The rest are probably better suited to the benches depending on your other options, although some of those opponents (Bengals, Bucs, Pats) give up quite a few receptions to RBs. Full-backs against these teams just aren’t reliable enough to produce. This could also be true of Ronald Jones (@Panthers) if he starts in place of Leonard Fournette (hamstring), as he would present a similar profile to Conner.

If you’re looking for sleepers, handcuffs Darrel Williams (vs Steelers), Sony Michel (@ Vikings), Jordan Howard (@ Giants), and Rex Burkhead (vs Chargers) all have more advantages than usual. Michel and Howard won’t catch a lot of passes, so they’re also TD-or-bust, which might make them too risky in PPR formats, but Williams and Burkhead usually get a few catches. In their very favorable matches, they could easily get away with it.

WEEK 16 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start them, sit them down

The “borderline” backs with the best clashes are Darrell Henderson (@ Vikings), Michael Carter (vs. Jaguars), Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams (@ Raiders), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (vs. Steelers), Miles Sanders (@ Giants) and the starter from Detroit (@ Falcons), who will likely be Jamaal Williams. All are expected to be played this week in 12-team leagues, as all are capable of catching at least a handful of passes to go along with what should be solid days on the pitch.

As we said before, there will be a lot of changes over the course of the week in these leaderboards, so be sure to handcuff your best RBs. It wouldn’t even hurt to handcuff your handcuffs if you have enough space on your list. The last couple of weeks are going to be wacky (Craig Reynolds and Duke Johnson, anyone?), So get ready if you’re still alive for your fantastic title.
