Ex-teacher accused of sex with student, marries victim after indictment

A former high school teacher from Alabama who allegedly had sex with a student recently married her.

According to court documents, the former teacher and coach quit after being arrested and charged in the case and is asking court officials to ease a restriction between them, The Associated Press (AP) reported this week.

“Thomas Blake Tucker, 25, included a copy of the marriage license in a court filing asking a judge to change the terms of his bond so the two could live together,” the outlet said.

In a social media post Sept. 17, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said officials learned the day before of a “potentially inappropriate relationship” between Tucker and a student.

He was released on $30,000 bond on the condition that he refrain from contacting the student involved, according to the AP report.

“The defense application indicates that the two obtained the marriage license and were married on November 8 despite the restriction, which he said Tucker currently adheres to,” the outlet noted, adding that the application will be heard at of a hearing on December 6.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old teacher’s aide in Oklahoma has reportedly been charged with allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student in the weeks after she started work.

“Her first day on the job was October 10, which was 15 days before she started speaking with the teenage student on October 25 via SnapChat,” Breitbart News reported, adding that the suspect, Ashley Waffle, had been fired. November 10.
