Errol Spence reveals he was involved in a second car accident and suffered from PTSD after a dramatic first crash that threatened his life

Errol Spence has revealed he suffered from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) following his car accident in 2019.

The unified WBC and IBF welterweight world champion survived a life-threatening high-speed incident in which he was thrown from his Ferrari for not wearing a seatbelt.

When asked if he suffered from post-traumatic stress during his recovery, Spence told The Good Fight with Kate Abdo: “Oh definitely.

“When I was driving, I would have liked different flashes of a car hitting me.

“Or I’d be at a red light and just have lightning bolts of cars hitting me and getting into car crashes all the time.

“It was when I was driving down the street or at a red light or whatever.

“PTSD is definitely a real thing because I had accident flashes all the time.

“I still have it sometimes when I’m driving.”

Spence added: “My mom and my manager actually wanted me to see a psychiatrist.

“I saw one for a day and then I was like, ‘No, it’s not for me. I’m not good at telling someone else my stuff.

Spence then revealed that he had been in a second car crash just three months after the first dramatic crash that grabbed the headlines.

“I actually had another accident three months after my accident,” he added.

“Someone hit me from behind.

“It shook me up a bit, but it’s really hard to reach me. I’m still on my feet.

“My insurance company kicked me out.

“I was in a G-Wagon, so they were like, ‘He messed up a Ferrari, now a G-Wagon 4×4.’

“They came out to about $600,000 in about five/six months. They paid me directly for both cars.
