Erling Haaland’s transfer destinations assessed as the striker ready for a successful summer move with Manchester United, Liverpool, Man City, Real Madrid and Barcelona all linked

Erling Haaland is one of the biggest names in world football right now and the transfer speculation surrounding him will only intensify in the weeks and months to come.
The 21-year-old forward has only been at Borussia Dortmund for two years but has already scored 76 goals in just 74 games.
Dortmund will desperately want him to stay and even if he has a contract until 2024, they will be powerless to stop him from leaving.
It was because of a £ 68million release clause in that contract, which they agreed to when they signed him from Red Bull Salzburg.
Almost all of the top clubs in Europe are clamoring for Haaland’s signing and it’s easy to see why.
Although the transfer fee is relatively low for a player of his quality, the actual cost of his transfer will be much higher taking into account his declared salary requirements, which would exceed £ 500,000 per week.
At 6ft 4in, he’s tall and powerful with the ability to devastate any defense around – and has an incredible eye for goal.
Here, talkSPORT.com takes a look at the top candidates to sign him and which one is best for him.
There are many reasons why Haaland may be drawn to the prospect of joining the Manchester club, but there are also a few drawbacks.
The club are currently managed by interim Ralf Rangnick and it was he who brought them to Red Bull Salzburg from Molde.
Former Haaland teammate Jadon Sancho is also at the club and the couple have had a brilliant relationship.
Sancho may have struggled so far, but they would definitely like to play on the same team together.
With Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford also on the squad, there is the potential to build a strong squad going forward.
A club of United’s stature would likely be able to afford his salary, while no doubt helping to develop his personal brand.
But United are a team in crisis right now and have a real fight to fight for Champions League football.
Haaland may need a lot of conviction to join them if they are missing.
Cristiano Ronaldo is also still at the club, which means he would also have someone else to compete with on the goal front.
If Haaland wants to join a club where he will immediately contend for the league titles and the Champions Leagues, then Liverpool could be a perfect landing place.
The Reds won the trophy two seasons ago, as they reached the final the year before, and are recent Premier League winners as well.
There are doubts about Mohamed Salah’s future as he has yet to sign a new contract with the club which could open the door for a new superstar.
Even if Salah stays, he will play in the top three alongside Haaland and Mane would rival any offense in world football.
The Reds may have a decision to make this summer on whether to sue the striker and give in to his huge salary demands, or make keeping Salah their top priority.
But how often does a generational talent like Haaland hit the market?
City of man
Like Liverpool, City are said to be ready for Haaland to embark on a trophy challenge.
Pep Guardiola’s side are arguably the best in Europe at the moment and have a vacant center-forward.
Sergio Aguero has never been substituted this summer, although they haven’t struggled to score goals at all this season.
There is no doubt that City could afford their price and salary requirements and the style of play could suit them perfectly.
With Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez all giving him the ball, he has the chance to score an obscene number of goals.
His father, Alf-Inge, also played for the club and can be of great help in signing him.
However, City could still be interested in Harry Kane which could derail any deal to bring him into Manchester’s blue half.
The Blues really shouldn’t be on the list considering they spent almost £ 100million on a striker last summer.
Romelu Lukaku was their hallmark signing from Inter Milan and they shouldn’t have any issues in that department.
But the Belgian striker has moved in and out of the squad and his controversial interview may have soured his relationship with Chelsea.
Bild reports that this week’s incident could impact their pursuit of Haaland.
Although Lukaku has apologized, doubts can start to set in and it remains to be seen whether fans will forgive and forget so easily.
Chelsea undoubtedly have the financial means to secure a deal for Haaland, but if Lukaku stays, it’s hard to see how they both would fit into the same lineup.
Aside from Lukaku’s presence, Stamford Bridge would be an attractive prospect with a top coach in Thomas Tuchel at the helm.
The Blues also have a glut of young attacking talent that can provide him with plenty of opportunities in front of goal.
Chelsea continue to invest in most transfer windows and will also provide opportunities for Haaland to win titles.
Madrid love a Galatico signing and Haaland could be their poster for the new generation of stars.
It was a period of transition following the departure of a number of club legends in recent seasons such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos.
Karim Benzema is 34 years old, but still as good as ever, and they will be looking to sign stars for now and in the future.
Madrid can offer Haaland the seriousness he perhaps deserves and there are some exciting young players in their ranks to grow up with.
The Spanish club have also been heavily linked with Kylian Mbappe, who is a free agent this summer, and could be forced to choose between the two.
The expiration of Gareth Bale, Isco and Marcelo’s contracts are likely to free up salary space to sign either.
Benzema is not going anywhere and he may have to fight for goals alongside the French striker if he joins.
Haaland would be a good choice for Real Madrid but Florentino Perez doesn’t get along well with player Mino Raiola’s agent and that can prove to be a stumbling block.
Madrid rivals Barca won’t sit idly by as they sign a number of big stars.
Haaland’s pursuit could ignite the bitter rivalry between the two clubs, with both boiling over in the past year.
They missed La Liga at Atletico Madrid and even made Barca drop out of the Champions League to the Europa League.
Club legend Xavi has been hired and has already signed Ferran Torres from Man City.
Now, they’ll want a big name to herald their new era, and Haaland might be the man they’re looking for.
President Joan Laporta will be aggressive in the transfer market as he tries the Norwegian striker.
But the big problem at the moment with Barça is the money. They don’t have much.
