Erling Haaland scores twice with Phil Foden and Ruben Dias also on target as Manchester City earn comfortable Champions League win over Sevilla

Erling Haaland took his tally of Champions League goals to 25 in the competition in Manchester City’s 4-0 win over Sevilla.
Pep Guardiola’s side dominated the game throughout at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on Tuesday night, with Haaland’s ninth goal in five games kicking things off for City.

The 22-year-old latched on to a cross from Kevin de Bruyne at the far post to kick the ball home and put his side ahead after 20 minutes.
Haaland scored again midway through the second half from close range, after Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou parried Phil Foden’s shot his way.
It means only 36 other players in Champions League history have scored more goals than the Norway international, who was playing only his 20th game in the competition.
Haaland also became the fourth player in the competition’s history to score in his first appearance for three different teams (Salzburg, Dortmund and City), after Fernando Morientes, Javier Saviola and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Between his goals, England international Foden doubled the Sky Blues advantage on the night, firing a left-footed effort into the bottom right corner.
Ruben Dias then slotted Joao Cancelo’s cross into the middle of an empty net in added time as Guardiola’s side lacked comfortable and dignified winners in Andalucia.

City’s summer signing added another in what was a comfortable 4-0 win
The result puts more pressure on Julen Lopetegui’s side, who have looked abject and short of confidence throughout.
Sevilla remain winless so far this season, and the result could be the death knell for the Spanish manager.
Guardiola gave Manuel Akanji his first start, with the defender signing from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Both Kyle Walker and John Stones were out for the clash in Spain, but that didn’t matter, given that the only real chance came from Alejandro Gomez, who fired wide.
City return to action against Tottenham on Saturday in the Premier League and will be full of confidence ahead of the clash at the Etihad Stadium.
