End clap for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and 4080? Nvidia is already thinking about what’s next

Nvidia would be on the verge of abandoning the production of two of its flagship cards: the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and the GeForce RTX 4080. The objective would be to make room for new models branded SUPER. If confirmed, these cards will soon no longer be available for sale. For the moment, Nvidia has not made any comments.

In the Nvidia catalog, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and 4080 are the two stars of the high-end market. However, they could soon gradually disappear from the shelves. The Californian brand could indeed make room for more powerful models.

It is the Board Channel site which states that mass production for these two very popular cards would have been stopped. Even more, the last supplies from resellers have already taken place. If this information is confirmed, it would simply sign the end of these models. At least for a while.

Nvidia would stop production of the RTX 4070 Ti and 4080 and bet on the future

According to Board Channel, this maneuver would be intended to make room for the next SUPER-branded models. In fact, they would be replaced by the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER as well as the RTX 4080 SUPER. Cards that would have the same base, but slightly more powerful.

As noted by the specialized site VideoCardz, this information could actually be a misinterpretation of Nvidia’s maneuvers. It indicates in fact that production could only be stopped temporarily and resumed in a few months depending on market needs. The COVID period, where Nvidia adjusted its production based on demand and shortages, is cited as an example. Likewise, mass production does not mean a complete stop, since these products could continue to be manufactured on a smaller scale.

We contacted Nvidia for details and we will update this article if there is new information. Obviously, nothing has been confirmed yet and Board Channel’s statements should be taken with extreme caution.
