  • Errol Musk said Elon texted him telling him to “shut up” after recent media comments.

  • Elon’s father told Daily Mail Australia that his 3 daughters had refused to speak to him “for days”.

  • But he said he misunderstood the question and was proud of Elon from “the day he was born”.

Errol Musk said he received a text from Elon telling him to “shut up” after he said he was not proud of his son.

In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, Musk said he misunderstood a question in a recent Australian radio interview by answering “no” when asked if he was proud of Elon.

“I didn’t really notice his question about pride. It wasn’t until I listened to the recording afterwards that I realized,” he told the newspaper.

“If you ask any parent if they are proud of their son, you are proud of them from the day he is born.”

Nonetheless, Musk said his three daughters – Alexandra, Asha and Tosca – hadn’t spoken to him for days after his comments on Australian radio.

“Elon knows it’s not true, so he’ll never get mad about it. He doesn’t care about that stuff,” Musk said.

He told the Daily Mail that Elon texted him following his comments which read: ‘Dad the press is playing you like a fiddle so please shut up.

In the 20 Minutes radio interview, Musk said of his kids, “They’ve seen a lot, and we’ve done a lot together, but Elon has actually really crossed the mark.”

Despite this success with Tesla and SpaceX, Musk said his son is “not as happy as he would like” because he “feels behind” with his businesses.

Elon Musk is being sued by Twitter after he backed out of a $44 billion takeover deal, but has hit back at the platform. The case is due to be heard in October in a Delaware court.
