Élisabeth Borne excludes being head of the list

Speculations

The rumor of an Elisabeth Borne candidacy goes hand in hand with that of a government reshuffle which resurfaces after many weeks of speculation in the spring and finally the confirmation of the head of government in July. Several names are also circulating to lead the majority list: Stéphane Séjourné, who heads the presidential Renaissance party and who is already an MEP, Thierry Breton, European Commissioner, or Laurence Boone, Secretary of State for Europe.

In an OpinionWay poll published Monday, the National Rally list led by its president Jordan Bardella received 28% of voting intentions, nine points more than that of the majority. In addition to the RN, other parties such as the ecologists or the communists have already announced their head of list. At the beginning of the month, Élisabeth Borne indicated that the designation of the person who will lead the list of majority parties would take place “When the time comes“.
