The British company Easyjet has canceled more than 200 flights since this weekend, while 60 more were canceled for the day of Monday April 4, largely because of employees sick with Covid-19. The disruptions are expected to continue this week.
“We have taken steps to mitigate this disruption by bringing in employees who (didn’t have to work) this week-end” but the company had to resort to cancellations anyway, according to a spokesperson.
“Unfortunately new cancellations were necessary” for Monday and Tuesday, he added, apologizing on behalf of the carrier “low-cost”. The company confirmed Monday morning that “more than 200 flights” canceled over the weekend and“about 60 more” could not take off as planned on Monday.
