The Cardinals and Rams meet for the third time this season, but this time it’ll be a game-winning or home playoff situation on Monday night. The Rams side has a lot of DFS options with high potential, and we’re going with an assault from the Rams in our DraftKings tournament lineup. Cooper Kupp will be the most popular captain’s pick, and for good reason, but we’re going elsewhere to differentiate our picks in GPP tournaments.

Here are the important settings for one-game DraftKings contests: PPR full point, and there is Three-point bonus for 300 passing yards, 100 yards rushing, and 100 receiving yards. Choosing the captain costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but they also get their points total multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Pick: Cardinals vs. Rams

Budget of $ 50,000, need at least one player from each team.

Captain: (1.5x salary, 1.5x points): WR Van Jefferson, Rams ($ 7,800)

There probably won’t be a ton of teams with Jefferson as the captain, but he could realistically be the top scorer. He always flies under the radar in DFS and in real life, so with all the attention on Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr., the hope here is that Jefferson gets loose on some deep shots against the Arizona secondary that lets the fourth plus DK points to the WRs. It has the same benefit as OBJ and costs around $ 2,500 less.

FLEX: QB Matthew Stafford, Rams ($ 10,800)

Stafford may be out of chances to prove he can get things done in the big games, so we’ll bet on him to finally break through with an explosive day, winning his first career ‘W’ playoff. He hit at least 20.3 DK points in both clashes with Arizona and threw five touchdowns for a single interception in those games.

FLEX: WR Cooper Kupp, Rams ($ 13,000)

We don’t completely lose Kupp because it’s hard to think the winning lineup won’t get him. The selection of Jefferson to captain as part of the Stafford-Kupp-Jefferson stack gives us viability with a little creativity. Kupp’s 2021 resume speaks for itself.

SUNDAY ONLY DFS CONFIGURATION: FanDuel | DraftKings

FLEX: TE Zach Ertz, Cardinals ($ 6,200)

Ertz has scored double-digit DK points in each of his last four games, without scoring any touchdowns. He caught at least six passes and averaged over 10 targets / game during that streak. Los Angeles is just a mid-level defense against tight ends, so we’d expect Ertz’s production to be there, and a touchdown could knock him on the 20-point door.

FLEX: RB Chase Edmonds, Cardinals ($ 5,000)

Edmonds (ribs, toe) should play, and it’s a perfect value option for a full PPR score. His salary is extremely generous given his potential, even with James Conner back in training. It should see double-digit ranges and five or more targets, so a few explosive games would make it a viable DFS game.

FLEX: Los Angeles Rams D / ST ($ 3,800)

Against the Cardinals’ powerful offense, it shouldn’t be a chalky selection. However, we’re counting on a strong defensive push from the Rams against a hot and cold Kyler Murray. The offense hasn’t been quite the same without DeAndre Hopkins and between interceptions, fumbles, and sacks, it’s given up plenty of fantasy points to the D/STs recently.
