Physician Dr Pierre Kory explained how his anti-establishment views on COVID-19 affected his change of political party Friday on “The Ingraham Angle.”

DR. PIERRE KORY: Science shouldn’t be involved in politics, and I see these divisions breaking out in medicine that seem to be influenced by political allegiances. And I’m not for that. But when you look at some of the things that have happened, we’re literally talking about misinformation boards and people attacking my medical license because my scientific opinions are different from theirs and there’s that one truth. It’s extremely dystopian, and I find it really disorienting, and it’s bad for medicine. It’s bad for patients. The lack of self-awareness – from what I really see now from the left and the left-wing media – that they abandon their principles. I was for free speech, free speech and questioning authority, and now it’s the authoritarians. And so as Elon [Musk]I am very confused.

COVID DRUG: US COMMITS TO MAKE ANTIVIRALS MORE ACCESSIBLE

If you see how [Dr. Fauci’s] opinions have evolved over time — and this brings me back to my point — we need open, honest, scientific and transparent debate. This is how medicine progresses. It’s so bad for the patients. For someone sitting at the top of the federal government’s health agencies telling us what’s true and we’re not allowed to debate it or ask questions – that’s not how medicine progresses. That’s not how you figure out how to help patients. It will absolutely harm medicine if he continues to do this, and it has to stop.
