Not content with confirming that a third part of Snow Queen was in preparation, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced a fourth film.
“Frozen 3 is in the works and there may well be a Frozen 4“. It was Bob Iger, the boss of Disney, who dropped this little sentence during an interview with Good Morning America this Thursday.
“I don’t have much to say about these films at the moment, but Jennifer Lee, who created Snow Queen And Frozen 2 working hard with his team at Disney Animation, on not one, but two stories,” added Bob Iger, from Hong Kong Disney Park, where a dedicated Frozen area opens on November 20.
Disney made the third installment of its successful animated films official in February 2023.
Released in 2013, the first episode, inspired by a tale by Andersen, followed Anna’s journey to find her sister Elsa, struggling with uncontrolled glacial powers, which allowed her to create ice and snow.
The film was a worldwide success, notably thanks to the hit Let It Go. Snow Queen (Frozen in English) then became the highest-grossing animated film in history, grossing nearly $1.3 billion worldwide.
Awarded the Oscar for best animated film in 2014, he experienced a sequel in 2019. In this second opus, Elsa sees her daily life turned upside down when the four elements (earth, water, fire and air) threaten to destroy her city.
