Democrats will get two seats in the House, two in the Senate – by fighting the “fascists”

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean claimed on MSNBC’s “The Beat” on Wednesday that Democrats will increase their US Senate and House majorities in Tuesday’s midterm elections.

At a campaign rally, former President Barack Obama said, “If they ignore or minimize this type of violence, or encourage their supporters to stand outside polling places armed with guns and dressed in tactical gear, if that’s the environment we create in, more people are going to get hurt.

Dean said, “I think that’s exactly it. That’s why these people are so dangerous. Next Tuesday will be a very big deal. I’m optimistic. I have said several times that I think we will take two in the House, two in the net of the Senate. The early numbers are huge, but we don’t know what the Republican numbers will be because Democrats traditionally vote earlier. That may not be enough. It’s a long fight, whatever happens on Tuesday. We are in a big fight here. Fascism is a powerful force.

He added, “We have seen it take over civilized countries before. I am thinking of Germany, of Hungary today. These are democracies that have gone south and become authoritarian states. Brazil just saved itself by a margin of two million votes and was heading down that path. We must stand up and fight for our country. We can’t leave that to the Democratic Party or anyone else. We have to do it ourselves. This means that we have powers as consumers. We have powers as shareholders. We have credentials of people who work in big companies. We have those powers, and we must be ready to use them if the fascists take power on Tuesday.
