Dana Carvey Thanks Friends and Fans for Support After Son Dex’s Death – Deadline

Just days after Dana Carvey’s eldest son, Dex, died of a drug overdose, the comedian took to social media to thank his friends, fans and those who knew Dex for “so many beautiful messages “.
He continued: “My wife and I were overwhelmed by your love, your personal stories, your compassion.”
He then announced: “I’m going to take a break from work and social media to figure out what life is like now that we’re a family of three. We will heal and carry on as best we can. Our darling Dex would have wanted it that way.
Carvey signed “Lots of love, Dana.”
On Wednesday, Carvey and his wife Paula released a statement that read in part: “Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old.
“Dex has accumulated a lot over these 32 years. He was extremely talented in so many areas – music, art, filmmaking, acting – and he pursued them all with passion.

The old SNL catmember then shared a photo of himself and his son.
