Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message to Al-Nassr fans ahead of his arrival in Saudi Arabia.

The 37-year-old recently signed a deal worth £177million a year to join the Saudi Pro League club.

Ronaldo is on his way to Saudi Arabia

It came after Ronaldo and Manchester United mutually agreed to tear up the remainder of his contract following a bombshell interview with TalkTV host Piers Morgan.

Speaking in a video from his private jet, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said: “Hi guys, see you soon!”

Ronaldo travels to the Middle East ahead of his official unveiling as an Al-Nassr player on Tuesday.

The Portuguese superstar is football’s greatest goalscorer but some believe the move marks the end of his career at elite level.

Ronaldo pushed for an exit from Old Trafford in the summer and often found himself on the bench under Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.

Things went from bad to worse at the World Cup as Ronaldo was let go by Fernando Santos, before Portugal were knocked out by Morocco in the quarter-finals.

The Saudi Pro League is not known for its quality but Ronaldo has become the highest paid athlete in world football with his Al-Nassr contract – which runs until 2025.

For now, however, fans in the UK won’t be able to see how it works, given that there’s no TV deal in place.
