Eastman confirmed to the Post that he wrote the email to Jacob, but denied blaming Pence for the violence. He insisted the election was “rife with widespread fraud,” a prospect that is unsupported by any evidence.

Eastman was part of a Trump “war room” team based at the Willard Hotel in downtown Washington, DC, after Biden’s victory, plotting how to overturn the presidential election results.

The special House committee investigating the January 6 insurgency plans has subpoenaed Eastman.
