In addition, she no longer separates her laundry between whites and colours, in order to save the energy consumed by her washing machine. The French are invited to adopt these simple gestures now, due to the cold wave affecting the country.
With the resumption of work on the morning of Monday April 4, RTE, the manager of the electricity network, fears a peak in consumption. “We are in a tense situation. This is a situation which does not present, a priori, any risk of a power cut, but it is a situation where the safety margins are reduced”explains Jean-Paul RobinNational Director of RTE Network Operations. On average, the French have 73 electrical appliances at home.
