The night of Monday April 4 was the coldest since 1947 for the month of April. Some arborists have lost almost everything due to the freezing of their crops.

On the evening of Sunday April 3, a couple of arborists had set their alarm clock to 11 p.m. to light candles on his farm. They had a hectare of peaches to protect. Throughout the night of Monday, April 4, they watched the weather carefully, because every degree counts. In total, the two farmers lit 150 candles at 10 euros each, or 1,500 euros to spend the night and make sure to harvest peaches this summer. This time, their peaches were saved.

On the other hand, other arborists suffered from the frost during the night of April 4, which was the coldest since 1947 for this month. Alsace, Burgundy, Dordogne, Vienna: many regions were affected. On the morning of April 4, an arborist from Bonnes (Vienna) noticed the freezing of his apricot trees. The blow is hard, especially since last year, already, his apricots were lost.
