Clemson soccer star reveals tragic news of teenage sister’s death after battle with brain cancer

Clemson defensive lineman Bryan Bresee announced Thursday that his little sister Ella has died after battling brain cancer.

The Tigers star’s sister was 15.

“My beautiful sister Ella, you amazed me every day with the fight you fought and how joyful you were throughout this battle,” Bresee wrote on Instagram. “I never thought I would be sitting here today saying goodbye to you. I want to thank you for bringing happiness not only to me, but to so many people. You are the best sister I have ever had. any brother may ask and i know for a fact that heaven won a beautiful angel today i love you forever and always bear Ella.”

Before Clemson’s home opener on Saturday, Bresee led the tiger walk with the entire team wearing “Ella Strong” shirts. The Ls have been replaced by 1s to read Bresee’s number 11 jersey.

“Our prayers continue to be with the entire Bresee family,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said in a statement. “We are all so grateful for all the love and support shown by the Clemson family and so many others during this time. Ella was such a sweet spirit, and her spirit will live on throughout the Bresee family and all. the world. who had the opportunity to know her. I am stronger today for having experienced the strength and the courage of Ella.”
