British boxing legend Chris Eubank Sr left a TV studio full of Americans utterly bewildered when he spent an entire minute reciting a quote about ‘the dandy’.
In 2019, when his son Chris Eubank Jr signed with Al Haymon’s PBC and was preparing to make his boxing debut in the United States, Eubank Sr traveled to the United States with him for a forward show- first.

To conclude, Eubank Sr – known for his eccentric dress sense – gave his opinion on the fashion styles of several boxing personalities.
The last image shown for him to judge was of Eubank Jr.
Assessing his own son’s dress sense, Eubank Sr said: ‘I hope it falls on him – the idea of being smart in dress.
“There’s a quote that goes like this, it’s about the dandy.”
Eubank Sr then recited in full: “A dandy is a man who wears clothes.

“A man whose office, trade and existence resides in the wearing of clothes.
“Every faculty of his soul, mind, purse, and person is heroically consecrated in this one object – the wearing of clothes, wisely and well.
“While others may dress to live, the dandy lives to dress.”
The panel of British presenter Kate Abdo, American boxer Shawn Porter and Mexican-American boxer Abner Mares were completely stunned and unsure how to react.
At the end, Porter turned to Eubank Jr and said, “So that’s what you grew up with, huh?”
Eubank Jr replied, “I grew up with that and so much more.”
