Chelsea defender Malang Sarr has admitted the ‘strange situation’ at the club has affected him and his team-mates.
The Blues are currently third in the Premier League and can still win the FA Cup and Champions League, but it has been chaotic off the pitch at Stamford Bridge lately.
Roman Abramovich’s wish to sell the club has been dashed somewhat by sanctions imposed on him as the UK government announced it had found evidence of links between the Chelsea owner and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Chelsea sale appears to still be ongoing, with four bidders reportedly shortlisted to succeed Abramovich.
But for now there is still some uncertainty at the club and Sarr insists while he and his team-mates keep a professional head on the pitch, the noise outside is hard to ignore.
“It affected us a bit because it’s a strange situation,” Sarr told talkSPORT.
“We are professionals, we have to take care of our work and our work is on the pitch, it’s the only thing we can manage.
“That being said, we just have to work hard and try to get the result for the club no matter what.”

Thomas Tuchel’s side have largely performed well amid all the noise, winning four out of five matches since March 10, when the sanctions were imposed on Abramovich.
However, their last outing was highly unusual for Chelsea as they collapsed to a 4-1 home loss to Brentford in the Premier League.
The Blues will be looking to bounce back when they take on Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night.
